This study examines the genetic and cognitive factors that influence response to cued picture-naming therapy in people with chronic aphasia (a language disorder) after stroke. It enrolls native English speakers with word-finding difficulty (anomia) who had a single left-hemisphere stroke at least six months earlier. It is conducted as a study without a phase designation and is active but not currently recruiting.

Inclusion Criteria: * At least six months post-onset of a single left-hemisphere stroke * Chronic aphasia * Anomia (word-retrieval deficits) * Native English Speaker. Exclusion Criteria: * Severe motor speech disorders * Severe auditory comprehension deficits * Severe depression. * Diffuse injury or disease of the brain * Uncorrected vision or hearing difficulties * Contraindications for MRI (e.g. cardiac pacemaker, ferrous metal implants, claustrophobia, pregnancy).
