This study examines steroid hormone production (steroidogenesis) in people with Friedreich's ataxia, an inherited disorder of the nervous system. Individuals with a genetically confirmed diagnosis of Friedreich's ataxia, along with age- and sex-matched healthy volunteers, could take part. This was a study without a clinical phase and has been completed.

Inclusion Criteria (FA Group): * Genetically confirmed Friedreich's Ataxia diagnosis * Signed informed consent (parents and/or participants depending on age) Inclusion Criteria (Control Group): * Healthy individuals with no known chronic or endocrine disease * Age- and sex-matched to FA patients * Signed informed consent
