This study examines NF2 gene mutations in nerve tumors that develop in people who received radiation therapy to the head and neck during childhood. It included a group of patients who had received head-and-neck radiation for benign conditions before the age of 16. Sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), this observational study had no assigned phase and has been completed.

* INCLUSION CRITERIA: Members of a cohort of 4,296 patients who received conventional (200 kV) radiation treatment to the head and neck for benign conditions before their 16th birthday. All of the patients were treated at Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago, between 1939 and 1962.
